You can change category settings at the top-right of the categories window.  These include a subsort feature that makes Tidy It Up !  place the icon on the next line if at least one of the x first characters of the file is different from the previous file of the category.  You may also assign a color to the category: Tidy It Up ! reads the colors and labels you use under the Finder.  Finally, you may enter a comment for the category.  This comment is used by the Finder when you double-click on the category's file icon to explain the purpose of this category.

Deleting a category
To delete a category, select it with a click, and then use the "Delete Category" menu item (this command is undoable).

Modifying categories order
To change the order of appearance of the categories, click on a category and drag it to the desired position.  This order is important because it will be used to place the icons in each folder.

Creating a new rule
To create a new rule, use the "New Rule" menu item.  A new rule is added to the current category.  Tidy It Up ! places the rule in edit mode automatically.  You may modify the rule by changing its type, creator and name.

Modifying a rule
To modify a rule,  click on it once to select it and a second time to make its name editable.  You can then use <tab> to edit the next field of the rule or to edit the next rule.  <shift>-<tab> may be used to go backwards.  The order of the rules is not important for Tidy It Up ! so there is no way to change it.  To leave the edit mode, press the <return> or <enter> key.

Moving a rule from one category to another
You may move a rule from one category to another by dragging the rule to the name of another category.

Moving a file to create a new rule
You can also create a rule by dragging a file from the Files Window to a category name or to the rules view for the selected category.  This feature allows you to create a rule very quickly with no typing errors (sometimes, the type or creator includes some special characters that are difficult to type).
